I saw a little gem at work and had to return to it after I clocked off. I took some awful pictures as well.

It's a Touring 2000 tii build between 1971 and 1973.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

While reminding me of the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I saw last year, the 2000 tii with 130hp drives in a different league. I guess the four-banger`s 177Nm will throw the weight of just 1035kg around like an Orca playing with a baby Seal.

All this means only the top of the range Turbo was able to bring you to jalop-nirvana faster back in the day.

I think we can all agree that both Tourings show an unmistakable lineage. So, thankfully "Touring" is clearly not just a name some marketing people dug out to give BMW's lifestyle-trucks a connection to the history of the brand, right?

Yeah...

Kinja'd!!!

(There are a few other interesting cars parked at the shop. I will return when it`s warmer outside.)

Bonus round : Have two dreadful potato-shots more...

Nice! It has pretty wheels too.

1600/2000 tail lights are the coolest tail lights ever made. The second place will go to Cherry X1-R. I haven't ranked the tail lights further but I'm pretty sure that next ones will be round lights too.

90% of all my wants lie in a 2002 touring with turbo flares. That truly is the dream.

Yeah, I also like the wheels. But they wouldn't be my first choice. Why is it that simple Alpina wheels look so stunning on every BMW ever made?

I'd put them on my Touring in a heartbeat. Sadly nice ones with good tires would be worth more than my car and I can't afford them (at least until everything else is done on my Boat)... ;-)

I might settle for Styling 32's though...

And I`ve never seen the Cherry X1-R before. Now I have to know more about it. Thx!

Those Alpina are indeed pretty. I have always liked the wheel design used in Alpinas.

Nissan Cherry was sold as Datsun 100A in Europe. They are pretty legendary here but really rarely seen on the road nowadays. X1-R had European version too and it was called 120A coupe. I have vague idea that I have seen one in Finland.

One of my friends has been racing with a 100A for over 10 years in one local racing class. Has has now realized that the engine is not very reliable racing engine. But he is pretty fast with his car.

Right? This is just too cool, in a very weird way. I definitely agree about the headlights though. Those are a must.
